Rachel Annette Olsen

Rachel Annette Olsen, 41, of Rigby, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at her home with her parents by her side. She was under the care of Solace Home Health.

Rachel was born Nov. 24, 1970, in Provo, Utah, the oldest child of Joseph Brent and Rebecca Mary Totten Olsen.

She graduated from Ricks College in Rexburg with an associate degree in computer science. She graduated from Westminster College in Salt Lake City with a bachelor's degree in computer programming and worked for L3 Communications, an auxiliary of Lockheed-Martin, for three years.

While attending graduate school at Idaho State University working toward a master's degree in mathematics, her health turned bad and she eventually became disabled and returned to Rigby to live with her parents.

She is survived by her parents; siblings, Mary Kathryn Olsen and James Underwood, both of Idaho Falls, Nathon Robert Olsen and Cathy Smullin Olsen, both of Lewiston, Utah, Diane Ami Olsen of Rigby, and David Karl Olsen and Jolyn Ricks Olsen, both of Rexburg; two foster sisters, Suzanne Camphuysen Williams of Washington state and Kaitlyn Kathleen Hall of Rigby; 10 nephews; and 11 nieces.

Rachel's two greatest loves were her cats and books. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to donate a book to your favorite library or help your local humane society care for unwanted pets.

There will be no viewing. Rachel will be interred in Annis-Little Butte Cemetery following graveside services at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9. Following the graveside service, those who wish to celebrate Rachel's life are invited to join the family at the Red Brick Church, 401 W.
