After High school I worked construction for Dome technology for about 9 months and I traveled a lot. (Detroit, Saint Paul, Pennsylvania) I then did a semester at Ricks, and served an LDS mission in Milan Italy. I then returned and finished my degree at ricks in agriculture education. I met my wife Wendy (With the help of Matt Hancock) married and moved to Moscow to finish my schooling at the U of I. I graduated in 1996 and had our first son. I took a teaching position in Fruita Colorado, just out side of Grand Junction. I lived there for 6 years, built two houses and had two more children, a son and a daughter, and earned my masters degree. We have since moved to Dillon Montana where I am in my 13 year of teaching, and in my 3rd home we built. We had our fourth child here in Montana. We love the small agriculture community and the hunting and fishing opportunities. I have really enjoyed teaching agriculture and found it to be a real rewarding career. I teach a variety of subjects including animal science, plant science, horticulture, greenhouse management, Ag business, welding, mechanics, fish & Wildlife management, Range management, and carpentry & construction and I am the FFA Advisor. I am also working with the young men at church, serving as an assistant scout master and the ward financial clerk. My children are in 4 H and shoot archery as well as show sheep. They also participate in basket ball, cross country, and karate. We go fishing, hunting, camping or snow skiing every chance we can get. I contract with the forest service and clear about 200 miles of mountain trails in the summers. My wife runs a small business out of our home called Taylor Made Sign and Design. She is very crafty and pretty handy. She also contracts out and lays tile flooring and did more to build our three homes over the past 15 years we have been married than I did. I own 20 acres of land and my kids raise and show lambs at our county fair. We had two lambs born last night. I own 2 horses and a mule that I love riding and use for trail clearing and hunting. I also love building things in my school shop and always have ½ dozen projects that I am working on.
